Burgundy
Burgundy is not just one area but five: Chablis to the north, the Côte d'Or in the middle, and then right below it the Côte Chalonnaise, the Mâconnais and the Beaujolais to the south. Chardonnay is the grape of Chablis, Gamay the grape of the Beaujolais, and Chardonnay and Pinot Noir share the honors in Burgundy proper (with a slight nod of the head to the white called Aligoté).
