Paloma 04 Merlot 750 ml
Owned by the Richards family, Paloma, west of St. Helena at the top of Spring Mountain, produces some of the greatest Merlot in Napa. An inky-garnet color, the 2004 has a vibrant nose of red currants, plum and black cherry. Medium-bodied in the mouth, it shows fruit flavors that subside to reveal classic notes of chocolate and toffee before a long, round finish. Though ready to drink now, this wine should age well through 2011.
