Tigne 98 Coteaux Layon Sweet White
Acquired by Gerard Depardieu, the famous French actor, 1989, Château Tigne is a beautiful medieval estate dating back more than ten centuries. The estate produces great dry and sweet whites from Chenin Blanc, as well as solid, earthy and juicy reds and rosés from Gamay and Cabernet Franc. The sweet and balanced 1998 Coteaux du Layon is beautifully layered with orange peel, apricot and ripe peach flavors enhanced by a great acidity that tempers the sweetness. A great dessert wine, it is not overly sweet with a racy attitude; enjoy it with an apple tart, a fruit salad, poached pear or peach. It is also Kosher and good for Passover.
