The Giovanni Manzone estate, located in Monforte d'Alba, is a small family-run property entirely planted to vineyard. Made from 100% Nebbiolo and aged for 24 months in French oak, this "Fraschin" from the acclaimed 1996 Barolo vintage is an elegant Barolo showing tertiary aromas of pure red fruit, flowers, forest floor and tobacco with hints of earth and leather. Medium- to full-bodied yet delicate in the mouth with great acidity, it shows notes of pepper and licorice which last into a long, sweet finish, complemented by dark fruit and tertiary flavors. This is a structured, balanced wine that shows interesting fruit and minerality.
