The Giovanni Manzone estate, located in Monforte d'Alba, is a small family-run property entirely planted to vineyard. Made from 100% Nebbiolo and aged for 24 months in French oak, the 2003 "Le Gramolere" has an ample and intense nose with aromas of prune, tobacco, and leather and persistent notes of vanilla and spices. On the palate it is warm, with flavors of ripe fruit, pepper and licorice. It has a long finish with a sweet aftertaste, and is structured with well-balanced tannins.
