Corino 93 Barolo Giachini 750 ml
Giuliano Corino makes unbelievably densely fruited, seamless, velvety and layered wines from Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto; his are perhaps some of the most representative and exciting wines of all La Morra. Corino has vineyard holdings in the choicest parcels of La Morra: "Arborina," "Giachini" and "Rocche." The Barolo "Vecchie Vigne" is a blend of small batches of Nebbiolo from the oldest vines in each vineyard, but mostly from the Giachini, hence the high quality of his Barolo "Vigna Giachini." Vigna Giachini usually undergoes a maceration on the skins in steel tanks for seven days, then it is aged in oak casks for 24 months and fining occurs in the bottle a few months before release. The resulting wine, made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes planted on sandy soil with ideal southwest exposure, is perfectly balanced wine with incredible integration of acidity, tannin and wood. It features elegant fruit, low acidity, and excellent structure.
