Clos du Marquis is the "second wine" of chateau Leoville-Las-Cases, a second growth, although since 1989 it has been regarded as a separate entity. This elegant Bordeaux from the Saint-Julien appellation has always been one of the best second wines in Bordeaux and can in fact rival many first wines from other prestigious Châteaux. Made predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this 2003 is a rich, opulent yet juicy and inviting, complex wine with a long finish. Very drinkable now but will age well.
