Rhum J. M. Is distilled on the smallest estate on Martinique, in the northeast corner of the island, where the sugar cane grows on slopes in rich volcanic soil at the foot of Mount Pelée; the unique microclimate found here permits the distillery to harvest the cane a full month later than other island distilleries, resulting in a rum with uniquely complex flavors. The Paille (Gold) is aged for a minimum of twelve months in small French oak barrels; pale gold, it has bread and yeast on the nose with hints of chocolate and spices.
