Compass Box Spice Tree
This is the "second generation" of the Spice Tree: the first bottling used inner oak staves to impart an oak influence, a practice to which the Scotch Whisky Association objected, and so this bottling uses French oak barrel heads instead. This is a bold, viscous, spicy Scotch, with notes of sticky toffee, vanilla fudge, bramble, and red currant that give way to oak resin, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and subtle lemon grass. A tactile, polished leather finish wraps it up.
