Former honey maker Eric Pfifferling inherited ten acres of vineyard land in Tavel in 1988; he subsequently almost doubled his acreage and has been bottling his own wines since 2003. The vineyards are certified "agriculture biologique." The "Les Travers" is a blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache; it proffers a billowing aroma of licorice, blueberry and cherry with a fine spice-laden palate that has much in common with Burgundy.
