Launched only in the year 2000 by brothers Antonio and Ignacio Barco, Pago del Vicario is a state-of-the-art winery in La Mancha. The name "Penta" references the five grapes that go into this blend (48% Tempranillo, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 10% Syrah and 2% Petit Verdot) as well as the five months the wine spends in oak. The wine shows sweet red fruits (red plum and cherry) and chocolate on the nose, with lots of fruit and hints of chocolate and mint on the palate.
