Domaine de la Tournelle, created in 1991 with barely two acres of vines, was and continues to be the product of its proud founders Evelyne and Pascal Clairet, both consulting winemakers before Tournelle; since the time of its creation the domaine has grown to encompass 15 acres, all planted to the Jura's unique varietals. The Clairets produced their first wines in 1995; In 2003 they went organic and in 2006 they went biodynamic. MacVin du Jura is made from 1/3 distilled spirit (marc) and 2/3 unfermented Chardonnay juice. Evelyn and Pascal go the extra mile and make their own marc, which is aged three years in oak barrel to achieve smoothness.
