The Negri Mazer Inferno, from the Valtellina region in northern Italy, is 100% Nebbiolo. Orange-tinged red in the glass, it has a nose that is redolent of dark plum, spice box and violets. The palate has a lovely savory note that resonates through the middle. Bright acidity holds everything together before fading into a nice, round finish that ends with berry and spice. Pairs best with substantial meat dishes.
