Weingut Pittnauer, run by the young couple Brigit and Gerhard Pittnauer, is located in the wine region of Neusiedlersee; here the special microclimate of the district is characterized by Austria's longest hours of sunlight, high humidity and moderate temperatures influenced by the large, shallow lake, the Neusiedlersee. The Pittnauers are considered specialists in St. Laurent, a grape related to Pinot Noir that produces wines that are velvety with robust smoky Morello cherry notes and soft tannins. Aged twenty months in oak, it is rather rich and round with excellent structure and a smooth finish.
