Jaboulet 01 Hermitage "La Chapelle"
For almost two centuries, the Jaboulet family has shared a common passion for the Rhône Valley, its history, its terroir, its exceptional people and wines. Hermitage "La Chapelle" is a blend of terroirs, including the prestigious hillsides of Méal and Bessards. Each one provides its own aromatic characteristics, as well as an elegant tannic structure, giving the wine great ageing potential. Surely one of the best Hermitages in the market, "La Chapelle" is made of 100% Syrah from 40-60-year-old vines, aged in wood in Jaboulet's ancient "Vineum" cellar (underground caves carved in limestone) for 15 to 18 months. The resulting wine has an intense ruby red, limpid and bright color; the highly complex, distinguished nose reveals the Syrah's great finesse with a bouquet of black fruits, sweet spices, earth, and a fine woody note. The palate is full and generous, with silky tannins and a very long finish.
