Decero 09 Malbec
Decero means "from scratch," and that's exactly how Thomas Schmidheiny began his winemaking operation in Agrelo, in the foothills of the Andes, back in the 1990s. That spirit continues in the winery's "hands on" approach: all of Finca Decero's wines atr hand-crafted single-vineyard wines, from vines that are sustainably farmed. The 2009 Malbec is classic Decero from their Remolinos vineyard, with its core intensity of red fruit flavors and pure violet aromas, and the balance of fresh acidity and elegant integration of French oak adds complexity to the velvety fruit notes.
