Atalaya 08 Almansa
Bodegas Atalaya is a new project undertaken jointly by the Gil family of Jumilla and their exporter to the U.S. Market, Jorge Ordońez; this 2008 "Almansa is only their second release of this wine. A blend of Monastrell, Garnacha, Tintorera, and other red grapes, aged eight months in French oak, it offers an aromatic array of cedar, spice box, violets, blueberry, and blackberry with a hint of licorice in the background. On the palate it has layers of savory fruit, excellent concentration, and a long, fruit-filled finish.
