Angelo and Angelina Pinti are the owners and winemakers at this small (22-acre) estate tucked into the extreme northwestern corner of the Montalcino appellation; here Sangiovese Grosso produces a fragrant, elegant medium-alcohol style of wine. The Pintis strive to emphasize purity and elegance in their wines, taking a minimally intrusive approach. This Rosso shows bright fresh cherry on the nose and palate, and the fruit on palate is balanced with ample acidity and sweet tannins, with a hint of licorice on the pleasant finish.
