Domaine d'Ardhuy is located in the heart of Burgundy, in the Côte de Nuits, bordering the Côte de Beaune. It is nestled in the Clos des Langres, which has been known for the quality of its wine since the monks of the Abbaye de Cîteau planted the first vineyards in the 10th century. Four generations of the d'Ardhuy family have owned this estate, which includes multiple vineyards stretching from Puligny-Montrachet to Gevrey-Chambertin. A single vineyard with high reputation, the Clos des Langres is a concentrated, opulent Pinot Noir, donning a dense, ruby robe and offering aromas of red cherries, black currants, oak and vanilla. Lush and elegant in the mouth, it shows pronounced black fruit flavors that are supported by silky smooth tannins and solid acidity into a generous, spicy finish. Though ready to enjoy now, some extra time in the cellar should yield additional layers of complexity.
