ASW, which stands for American Spirit Whiskey, has as its motto “Southern Pot-Still Pioneers”; the creation of Jim Chasteen, Charlie Thompson, and Justin Manglitz, it is based in Atlanta, Georgia, where it has three tasting rooms as well as a state-of-the-art distillery. With Justin as Master Distiller, they currently produce ten different brands, including this straight bourbon in their “Fiddler” line. Soloist” is the first straight bourbon to be distilled in Atlanta; a unique take on America’s native spirit, it replaces some of the usual corn with flavorful malts, double-distilled in Vendome pot stills with the grains left in.
