High West is a producer of craft whiskey and spirits based in Park City Utah. It is the personal project of David Perkins who, after serving apprenticeships with master distillers in both Kentucky and Scotland, moved to Park City in 2004. A Midwinter Night's Dram is a limited annual release (the Act denotes the yearly release, while the Scene denotes the bottling date) of High West’s Rendezvous Rye finished in French oak port barrels. This is a complex rye, with earthy notes of citrus and spice: the rye forms a beautiful base of vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon while the port barrels provide notes of plum, dried fruit, and baking spice.
