Co-founder with Steve Hindy of the Brooklyn Brewery, Tom Potter went on in 2008 to start the New York Distilling Company, in partnership with his son Bill and distilling expert Alan Katz. Their debut efforts, the “Dorothy Parker” gin and the “Perry’s Tot” gin, met with great success. This is their latest effort, Mr. Katz’s Rock and Rye; made with rock candy and a young rye whiskey and an infusion of dried Bing cherries, orange peel, cinnamon and other spices, it is meant for both neat pours and as a cocktail ingredient.
