Agricola Vinica's motto is "nature knows best." The winery, located in the Terre degli Osci (or simply “Osco”) region of Molise, Italy’s second-smallest region, wedged between the Abruzzo and Puglia, was founded in 2007 by Rodolfo Gianserra. His aim, as you might guess from the motto, has been to develop a full project based on organic farming and eco-sustainable development of a piece of land, one which had long been abandoned but where records showed was suitable for producing excellent vegetables, fruit and wine. The first vineyards were planted in 2009 and the first vintage was in 2011. The vineyards are planted to Sauvignon, Riesling, Merlot, and above all Tintilia, a native red varital to which Gianserra is partial. Done entirely in stainless steel, this Tintillia will remind you somewhat of the Rhone, fruity and spicy on the nose, freshand savory on the palate.
