The name of this vineyard is Agua de Piedra because the soils are so stony that the grower wonders how the vines find the water. This struggle gives the wine its intense concentration. Winemaker Richard Bonvin sources grapes from various old vine growers in Mendoza to produce this full-flavored "everyday" Malbec. Classic notes of plum, dark cherry, earth, licorice and spice are supple on the palate, and hints of toasty vanilla make an appearance on the finish due to six months aging in oak.
