This prestigious winery is located in the elegant 14th century Palazzo Altesi on a beautiful estate extending over 200 acres. It is a property blessed with tradition and history yet one that has always embraced innovation and a focus on the future. Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, owner of nearby Tenuta Caparzo, has owned this iconic winery since 2002. Altesino produces outstanding wines with the help of renowned enologists Pietro Rivella and Paolo Caciorgna; their Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wine styles are collectors’ favorites, and their Super Tuscan wines are top of class as well. Made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes hand-harvested from the Altesino, Castelnuovo dell'Abate, Macina, and Pianezzine vineyards, this wine is an example of finesse and elegance inherent to Montalcino's best vineyard sites. Balanced, with light tannins, it offers wild herb and earth notes that complement its macerated strawberry fruit flavors.
