Evodia is an exciting project in Spain's Calatayud region, the effort of the Altovinum team made up of winemaker Jean Marc Lafage, consultant Yolanda Diaz, and American importer Eric Solomon; together the three ferreted out and drew upon the Garnacha vineyards surrounding the town of Atea, at an elevation of nearly 3,000 feet the highest in the region and some of the highest in the country. The wine has compelling aromas of berries and smoke; on the palate there are vibrant spice and fruit notes, a perfectly balanced mix of flavors with loads of taste, a smooth texture, and a pure, fruit-filled finish.
