Located near Cividale del Friuli, in the heart of the Friuli region, Azienda Agricola Alturis was founded in 2009 by Marco and Massimo Zorzaettig, whose family has been grapegrowers in the region for three generations. Altùris translates to “a plot of land overlooking the surrounding countryside,” in the local Friulan language. Indeed, their 150 acres of vineyards stretch over a complex mix of flat and hilly land, all managed following sustainable farming practices to best capture the diverse flavors of the land. Their Ribolla is from vineyards planted on the plains and hills leading to Cividale del Friuli. Done entirely in stainless steel under controlled temperatures, the wine is lively and fresh, with notes of melon, stone fruit and white flowers and a honeyed finish.
