Located in Hector, New York, on the eastern side of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region, it was started in 1999 by Kim Engle and Debra Bermingham. They are true pioneers in natural winemaking in the area, having practiced organic viticulture successfully for more than twenty years. They work with three distinct vineyard sites, Auten Vineyard, Morehouse Road, and Barrow Vineyard, bottling wines separately from the sites to showcase the distinctive terroirs of each. Jung Wurzen is a non-vintage blend of Riesling and Gewurztraminer, fermented together on the skins; aromatic and rich yet fresh on the palate, it has plenty of tropical fruit and spice, great complexity, and an elegant finish.
