Altovino wines come to us from Bodega Altolandon, located in the province of Cuenca, in the Castille-La Mancha region of Spain. It was founded in 1998 by winemaker Rosalio Molina and her husband Manolo Garrote with the aim of making organic wines that express the typicity of the Manchuela region. The vineyards, at 3,600 one of the highest-altitude in the country, are planted to a wide selection of varieties, including Bobal, Malbec, Syrah, Grenache, Merlot, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Muscat Petit Grain, Petit Manseng, Viognier and Grenache Blanc. This Tinto Frio, a blend of Bobal, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier, is fermented in traditional clay pots (amphorae) with no added sulfites; The name "Tinto Frio" refers to the cold fermentation process, which preserves the wine’s aromatic freshness and vibrant fruit flavors while minimizing harsh tannins. The result is a light, fruity wine with a delightful nose of red berries laced with spice.
