Camparo is a five-generation family estate nestled in the rolling hills of Diano d'Alba, just south of the city of Alba. The fourth generation, Mauro Drocco, converted the family's vineyards to organics in the '90s and was certified in 2000. Camparo is justifiably known for its Barolos, but there's no doubt that Drocco, like his fellow Piedmontese, has a special fondness for Dolcetto, which most consider their everyday red. His version of the grape is slightly spicy, with aromas of red berries and cherries, velvety soft yet full-bodied, with a typical almond aftertaste.
