Located in the heart of the Langhe region of Piedmont, Plan d’Or is in the care of third-generation owner-winemaker Valter Barbero. Like his father Giuseppe and grandfather Giovanni, Valter is passionate in his dedication to cultivating the Moscato grape, but Calter took things one step further, by choosing to make the wine himself rather than selling the grapes to the major producers in the region. Wit the help of his wife Lina and his children Lorenzo and Serena, he farms 75 acres of vineyards, the vines being from 15 to 50 years old. His “Bricco Riella” is 100% Moscato d’Asti, a lightly sparkling wine that is vibrantly fresh and aromatic, with notes of peach, apricot and honeysuckle.
