Located in the small town of Oger for four generations, this small winery is today run by Laurent Klepka and his wife Catherine. It was started in the 1920s by Fernand Klepka and his wife Jeanne, both winemakers, who shortly realized they were beset by an unstable economic climate and, with the next generation of daughter Yvonne and her husband Raymond, spearheaded the formation of Oger’s cooperative, “Les Grappes d’Or.” Laurent Klepka is today president of that coop, representing the members of the coop as well as his own family business, Champagne Klepka-Sauss. This “Pream’bulle” is all about freshness: always a 70/30 blend of wine from the release year and reserve wines, it is floral, citrusy, mineral-driven, yet creamy and soft around the edges.
