This small family estate in Provence dates from 1924, when it was founded by Pierre and Maria Damiano; today their great-grandson Philippe is in charge, farming just over 20 acres of vines with the help of his wife Florence. The main variety planted here is Mourvedre, but there is also Grenache and Cinsault for the red and rose they make and Clairette and Ugny Blanc for their white, and all the vineyards are now farmed organically. Philippe’s wines are all classic Bandols, full-bodied and rich with spicy and earthy character. This white is a 60/40 blend of their two white grapes; tangy and lightly saline, it is quite refreshing, with a long and generous finish.
