Built on the remains of a Gallo-Roman villa, Chateau Laville dates from the late 19th century. It has belonged to the Faye family since 1956 and is today in the hands of third-generation brothers Alain and Herve Faye. The vineyards, planted to a 75/25 mix of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, are located on the central plain of Saint Sulpice and extend over 75 acres in a single stretch. This is an honest, basic Bordeaux, with a fruity nose of black cherries, savory oak influence, and a fairly dense structure.
