Located not far from the Bay of Saint Tropez, Chateau Sainte Roseline had its beginnings as an 11th-century monastery. Today it is a vineyard/winery of nearly 275 acres planted to 11 different grape varieties, ranked as one of 18 Provence Cru Classé properties. It came into the ownership of Bernard Teillaud in 1994, who completely renovated the abbey, and is now owned by his daughters Aurélie Bertin and Delphine Meunier, who bought it from him in 2011. “Le Cloitre” is classic Provence rose, a seven-grape blend in which Grenache and Cinsault dominate. With aromas of ripe honeydew, honeysuckle, red raspberry, and a mixed bouquet of herbs, it is crisp, fresh, and focused on the palate, with ample acidity and a lingering, pleasant finish.
