Clos Julien is a small winery specializing in cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Central Coast, California, specifically San Luis Obispo County. Their debut vintage of Price Canyon Chardonnay was sourced from Spanish Springs Vineyard, a small vineyard precariously perched on a south-facing hillside just 1.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean, at the very limit of where Chardonnay can ripen. The resulting wine is a dead-ringer for a steely Chardonnay from the Maconnais, vibrant and fresh with a high-toned finish.
