Clos des Fous is a story about four wine friends, four crazy guys who have chosen to ignore the "experts" about where to plant vineyards and to trust their own instincts. The team is viticulturist Paco Leyton, winemaker Francois Massoc, terroir hunter Pedro Parra, and "bringer of wisdom" Albert Cussen. Clos des Fous, at its heart, is a project dedicated to finding extreme terroirs in Chile and crafting unique wines that speak of place. Pour Ma Gueule – a French term literally meaning “for my mouth” and used for the wines winemakers stow away for family and friends – is a blend (mostly of Cinsault and Carignan) from Chile’s southern vineyards in the coastal hills of the historic Itata Valley. Full-bodied, the wine has aromas and flavors of red berries, black cherries, and black pepper; it is silky and lush on the palate with fine tannins and excellent acidity.
