Corte Rugolin is the name of an old manor house dating from the late 1600s; the property was purchased in 1971 by Silvia and Bruno Coati, whose family had been making wine since 1918. In the last few years Elena and Federico, the fourth generation of the Coati family, have entered the business; they expanded operations, with the collaboration of their parents and oenologist Luigi Andreoli, and started Corte Rugolin. The Aresco Passito is made from a blend of 50% Garganega and 50% other local white grapes, dried prior to fermentation to increase the concentration of sugar. The wine has an intense bouquet with hints of acacia, honey, vanilla and spices that carry through on the palate; enjoy it with creamy desserts or sharp cheeses.
