This estate dates from 1899, when it was founded by Amable Desertaux, a mere eight acres in size. It was not until the arrival of his grandson Bernard and his wife Janine Ferrand some sixty years later that the estate grew to thirty acres and the family began bottling and selling their wine. Today the estate comprises 335 acres and is run by the next generation, daughter Christine and son Vincent with his wife Genevieve. This red comes from a small parcel of iron-rich red soils containing a mix of very young and old vines, some dating back more than 60 years. It is matured for 12 months in around 25% new French oak barrels and is light ruby in color with a fragrant nose and impressively fresh, savory, creamy and supple palate infused with intense red and black fruits and exotic spices.
