Fabienm Duveau represents the eighth generation in his family to run this relatively small (some 50 acres) winery in Chacé, about three miles southeast of Saumur, on the left bank of the Loire. Fabien took over from his father in 2008. The vineyards, divided among some 40 parcels, are planted to Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc; all have been converted to organic and biodynamic viticulture, Demeter-certified since 2023. “La Hunaudiere” is a single-vineyard Chenin Blanc from 30-year-old vines; aged six months in concrete tanks and neutral barrels, it features a palate showing great tension with lime, apple, tangerine, a great balance of ample fruit and great freshness.
