The Domaine Marsoif is a family-run estate that was taken over by artisanal winegrower Raphael Masson in 2005, who represents the second geneeration of his family to live in the outskierts of Tonnerre, just east of Chablis. The "Bourgogne Tonnerre" winegrowing region has a loong tradition going back to the Romans and then to the monks of the early Middle Ages, but it was legally recognized as a regional appellation only in 2006. and so Masson is something of a pioneering figure here. This is an elegant, aromatic Chardonnay with aromatic hints of quince, apple, and pear and a palate that is juicy and fruity with bright acidity and good length.
