The Martin family’s roots in Chavignol go back to the 1850s, but its modern-day incarnation dates from 2004-05, when Pierre Martin took over the family’s vineyards from his father Yves. Today Pierre farms a bit more than 40 acres of vineyards, all in the prestigious locales of “Les Monts Damnés” and “Cul de Beaujeu.” Martin’s rosé is 100% Pinot Noir from Chavignol vines that are thirty years old or more; done entirely in stainless steel, this is a bright and refreshing rosé, lively and sharply focused, with notes of orange zest and fresh red berries.
