The Gautherin family has tended vineyards in this location in Chablis since 1585, but it was in the late 1950s that Raoul Gautherin founded the domaine as it is known today. In 2008 the next two generations, in the person of his son Alain and grandson Adrien, joined the family business and have since taken the vineyard management and winemaking to new heights. The family owns some 45 acres of vineyardincluding holdings in three Premier Cru vineyards and three Grand Cru vineyards. This offering is from their vines in the “Les Montmains” vineyard, vines that are 40-50 years old. This is dramatically impressive Chablis, concentrated, highly aromatic, with that unmistakable steely note of Chablis.
