Karina and Guillaume Lefevre met hiking across Corsica; now they are building a family and a domaine in the tiny village of Miramas in the heart of Provence. Here they are farming a bit less than 75 acres planted to traditional Provencal varietals, grown in a flaky limestone soil known as “Lauze” from which the winery takes its name. Their calling card is, not surprisingly, their rose, but the rose is well supported by a range of reds and whites, including this Pet Nat, a natural sparkling wine bottled during the primary fermentation process. Made from a blend of Grenache Blanc and Vermentino, it has intense aromas of citrus and pears, great acidity, a roundness on the palate, and a classic Provencal iodine-mineral finish.
