Dunites is the project of the husband-and-wife team of Tyler and Rachel Eck, who together have worked for more than a dozen wineries and vineyards around the world. They have planted their roots in San Luis Obispo, California, naming their winery after an eclectic group of 1930s metropolitan refugees known as the Dunites who settled in the beach dunes of San Luis Obispo county. They currently work with a wide range of varietals, including Albarino, Chardonnay, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Petite Sirah for still wines, and they also make a traditionally-styled sparkling wine from Chardonnay and Pinot. This is one of several Pinots they produce, from grapes from a San Luis Obispo vineyard farmed by Gina from Lady of the Sunshine wines. Incredible pure and expressive, it features tons of red fruit balanced by mouthwatering acidity on the finish.
