The husband-and-wife team of John House and Ksenija Kostic, who worked together for several years at Oregon’s Chehalem winery, set up on their own in 2011, with the specific aim of producing Oregon wines that are honest reflections of their time and place. Grapes for their wines, almost all white at the moment, are sourced from nine different vineyards throughout the state, all of which are focused on sustainable farming practices. Ezy Tgr is their new line, currently comprising just two wines, a Pinot Noir and this red blend. Inspired by the Palhete wnes of Portugal (which co-ferment red grapes with a small percentage of whites grapes), this wine is 50% Early Muscat and 50% co-fermented Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Mencia. Wonderfully smooth yet bold and spicy, ithe wine is characterized by a deep ruby color, an intense aroma of ripe berries, and an opulent tannin structure that gives it a long, satisfying finish.
