Engineer Alberto “Tito” Zuccardi planted his first vineyard in the Maipu region of Mendoza in 1963, aiming to show other neighboring farmers how his irrigation system worked, not realizing at the time that this would be the beginning of his life’s passion. The enterprise that grew from that vineyard is today one of the most successful family-run wineries in Argentina, run by Alberto’s grandson Sebastian. The winery represents the family’s commitment to producing the highest quality wines through organic and sustainable practices that protect the environment and uplift the local community. Sustainable practices include organic farming, compost production, bottling in lightweight glass, and solar power at the winery. The winery produces seven range of wines, one of them being “Vinos de Origen”; these are the original Zuccardi brands, Series A and Series Q (“Q” as in Quality). This Malbec is sourced from the family’s vineyards in Vista Flores, in the Uco Valley; aged in a combination of concrete and oak, it is richly fruited, with great acidity that provides freshness and minerality.
