Originally from the Salento region of Puglia in southeastern Italy, the Garesio family in 2010 bought some 30 acres in Monferrato and the Serralunga d’Alba regions of the Piedmont. The family now farms some 65 acres planted mostly to Nebbiolo and Barbera, with some Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir on the higher levels, largely for the production of sparkling wine. This is their basic Nebbiolo, from vines in the Cerretta and Gianetto crus of Serralunga; elegant, dry, fresh and well balanced, it shows velvety tannins, good aromatic persistence, and a long fruity finish.
