It was in 1719 that Mathurin Chon left his native Burgundy to settle in the Loire Valley, establishing his domaine in Muscadet with a handful of Melon de Bourgogne and Folle Blanche cuttings. Today, the domaine comprises more than 150 acres in the western Loire Valley around Nantes and is run by 13th-generation Marine Chon, with her husband Arnaud. Theirs is an intensely aromatic Sauvignon Blanc, bright and lively, with notes of citrus and tropical fruits, crisp minerality, and a zesty finish.
