Herdade do Rocim is an ambitious new estate in the southern Alentejo region, founded in 2000 with the intent of focusing primarily on native varietals; but the estate also is working successfully with a number of international varietals including Cabernet and Syrah. The "Mariana" rose is a blend of Touriga Nacional and Aragonez; it is medium-bodied and dry, with red, blue, and black berries on the nose and palate, an earthy finish, good tannic structure, and balanced acidity.
